Current Vintage: 2019
Grape Variety: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay
History: The philosophy of Oyster Bay is to produce fine, distinctly regional Super Premium wines that are elegant and assertive, with glorious fruit flavours. Oyster Bay produces wines from the renowned regions of Marlborough and Hawke's Bay.
Producer: Oyster Bay Wines New Zealand Ltd.
Regional Information: Marlborough is New Zealand's largest and most renowned wine growing region. It's combination of bright sunshine and cool maritime climate create expressive, fruit-driven wines unlike anywhere else.
Vinification Details: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were vinified separately, delivering fruit aromatics and vibrancy. The grapes were destemmed and gently crushed. The juice was cold settled and racked into stainless steel fermentation tanks. It was inoculated with a selection of yeasts. A slow temperature-controlled fermentation was undertaken. Short period of yeast lees contact imparted a delicate texture. No malolactic fermentation. The wine was racked and bottled young to retain the refreshing, lively fruit characters.
Winemaker: Michael Ivicevich
